About the President

Since its establishment in 1980, Taiwan Oncology Society has served as the chairman, supervisor, secretary-general,
colleagues in the secretariat, and all members. Thanks to these advanced efforts, the society has continued to grow
and thrive. I would like to thank all members and directors for their support. I am very honored to take over the。
position of the twenty-second chairman of the board.

In recent years, there has been a greater understanding of the causes and biology of cancer, leading to significant
advancements in diagnostic and genetic testing technologies. Along with the development of new cancer treatment
methods and drugs, personalized medicine has become more prevalent in cancer treatment. Physicians now have an
increasing number of treatment options to choose from clinical practice.
With the aim of promoting academic research and development, the Society continues to strengthen its efforts in
organizing educational training programs and seminars. It aims to disseminate research findings on cancer treatment
to all member and continue to play the role of nurturing young specialists. In addition to clinical medicine in the future,
we also hope to include more scholars interested in cancer research, whether they are experts in basic research or
other fields. By integrating the power of both clinical and basic medicine, the Society strives to become a platform for
cancer treatment and research in Taiwan and further connect with international academic organizations to keep our
members more aligned with the international community.

Once again, I would like to express my gratitude for the support of all the members and directors. As the COVID-19
pandemic situation has showed a sign of easing, the Society is even more committed to playing an active role in
promoting its development. I wish all the members and their families good health and safety.
