I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to all the members for your support. It has been my honor to serve as the nineteenth President of the Taiwan Oncology Society. I have been given a great opportunity to work with an excellent team and I cannot express enough thanks to all the people who have been so supportive. I will be making my best effort in leading the society towards the achievement of the goal. The Taiwan Oncology Society would not have been possible without your observations and support. Thank you for your encouragement as we strive to create a better future for the Taiwan Oncology Society.

The Taiwan Oncology Society was established in 1980 as a specialized organization dedicated to the advancement of medicine and we now have over one thousand members. Over the past 36 years, the Presidents have played an active leadership role in the organization to accomplish its mission. With all the effort made by the past Presidents, Directors, Supervisors and Secretary Generals provided us with a strong foundation for sustainable development.

The Taiwan Oncology Society is committed to advancing cancer medicine and promoting a multi-disciplinary approach for cancer treatment in Taiwan. We highly encourage members to attend upcoming activities and the feedback would help the society run more efficiently.

Cancer has become one of the top causes of death in the 21th century and is also the leading cause of death in Taiwan. The Taiwan Oncology Society strives to promote cancer medicine and enhance overall quality of medical oncology care. We are dedicated to facilitating international collaboration in cancer research and clinical therapeutics, promoting the development of cancer research, improving the quality of medical care and advancing cancer prevention in Taiwan. We would like to develop an active network with cancer specialists and institutions in other countries and serve as a resource for cancer research information. Great leaps have been made in the fight against cancer in recent years and we would like to accelerate cancer medicine research to find cutting-edge cancer treatments and bring new treatments for cancer patients. We are looking forward to bringing a hope that researchers are entering a new era of cancer medicine in Taiwan.
