About the President

Since its establishment in 1980, the Taiwan Oncology Society has continued to grow and thrive, thanks to the collective efforts
of successive presidents, board members, secretaries, and all members. I am deeply honored and grateful for the trust and support
that have allowed me to serve as the 23rd President.
In recent years, our understanding of the causes and biology of cancer has deepened significantly, accompanied by substantial
advancements in diagnostic and genetic testing technologies. With the development of innovative cancer treatments and drugs,
cancer therapy has become increasingly personalized, providing clinicians with a broader array of treatment options. Upholding
our mission to promote academic research and development, the Society continues to organize various educational training
programs and seminars, striving to disseminate the latest cancer research findings to all members and actively cultivate young
specialists to strengthen clinical capabilities.
Looking ahead, beyond our focus on clinical medicine, the Society aims to invite more scholars interested in cancer research to
join us, including experts in basic research and other related fields. By integrating the strengths of clinical and basic medicine,
we aspire to establish the Society as a pivotal platform for cancer treatment and research in Taiwan and further align with
international academic organizations to enhance our members' global perspectives and participation.
With the support of the National Health Insurance for cancer diagnosis and treatment, and the government's promotion of cancer
screening policies, the Society is committed to actively fulfilling its professional responsibilities. We will endeavor to assist in
achieving President Lai's goal of reducing cancer mortality by 30% by 2030, contributing to the health and well-being of our citizens.
Finally, I once again express my sincere gratitude for the support and trust of all members and board directors. Moving forward,
the Society will continue to play an active role in advancing our mission, working hand in hand with everyone towards a brighter future.

Wishing all members and their families good health and all the best.
